Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Update:

LETCHER COUNTY (Aug. 22, 2023) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of lane closures and traffic pattern changes along KY 15 in Letcher County for bridge repairs. The bridge is located in the Whitesburg area at mile point 2.8 at the KY 15/KY 15X junction (.8 miles West of KY 931).

Crews will perform deck operations on the KY 15X bridge Wednesday, Aug. 23, and Thursday, Aug. 24 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. During this time, the Southbound lane will be closed, and traffic shifted to the adjoining turn lane. These impacts are necessary due to the size of the equipment and to allow crews room to work safely in the work zone.

Motorists should plan for congestion in the area. Please watch for signage and slow down when encountering a work zone. Schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
