A Leslie County woman charged with murder has pleaded guilty. Officials with the Leslie County Circuit Court Clerk’s office said 26 year old Karianna Burton pleaded guilty as part of a plea agreement on Monday. The plea agreement asks for Burton to serve 22.5 years in prison, but the official sentencing will be on May 1. Police said Burton fired several shots at a home in November 2021. Jaqueline Lingar, who was at the home, died as a result of the shooting.

Police said Burton was looking for her child’s father, Cody Asher, when she got into an argument with Lingar and Mark Smith.
