FLOYD COUNTY MAN BEHIND BARS AFTER FIGHTING POLICE

prison-2

A Melvin man is facing numerous charges after, police said, he threatened and fought with officers in the presence of his minor child. According to an arrest citation written by Floyd County Sheriff’s Deputy Randall Roberson, while serving a warrant at a residence on Ky. 122 in Melvin, he observed Chad Cole, 40, run into a camper. Cole, who had his minor child in the camper, refused to exit peacefully, the citation said. Roberson wrote he deployed his Taser, which had no effect, as Cole continued to be combative and refused to leave the camper. Eventually, the citation said, the deputies entered the camper and were able to physically restrain Cole after he attempted to strike them with his hands. Cole was lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center on charges of third-degree terroristic threatening, menacing, second-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), resisting arrest and first-degree wanton endangerment.
