Kentucky State Police is investigating a shooting on GW Drive in the UZ community of Letcher County. Around a quarter past 9. Friday morning, troopers said they received a call about the shooting. When first responders got to the scene, they confirmed they found Nicholas Webb, 45, dead from a gunshot wound. Officials said Rodney Webb, 56, is the suspected shooter, and he was arrested on the scene. After an initial investigation, officials said the two men were fighting, and the situation escalated when Rodney Webb, of Whitesburg, reportedly pulled out a gun and shot Nicholas Webb, also of Whitesburg. The victim was taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy. Rodney Webb was taken to the Letcher County Jail and charged with one count of murder and one count of possession of a gun by a convicted felon.
