Gov. Andy Beshear visited Floyd and Pike counties on Tuesday to celebrate two major developments. In Wayland, Beshear joined members of Appalachian Service Project and other community members to celebrate the progress of 11 new higher-ground homes. Beshear said he so grateful to see the progress of displaced families finally having homes and people getting their lives back. After celebrating the construction of homes in Wayland, Beshear traveled to Pikeville for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new senior citizen center. A place that will care for an entire generation of people.
