Spring’s youth turkey hunting season is around the corner and the Kentucky Division of Forestry is urging hunters to be especially careful during the Spring Forest Fire Season. Tips for a wildfire-safe hunting experience include being careful with all fires, such as campfires, cook stoves, barbecues, and motorized equipment as these can start fires near dry areas. Hunters should also be on the lookout for fires and avoid burning areas. And while rainstorms can help to put out any fires, caution should be used as it can cause flooding and landslides.
