On Thursday, February 8, 2018, Governor Matt Bevin appointed Bobby Begley of Hazard to the Statewide Independent Living Council. Begley is a volunteer with the East Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard. He will represent organizations providing services for individuals with disabilities and serve for a term expiring May 20, 2020. The Statewide Independent Living Council is a federally mandated organization established under Title VII, Section 705 of the Rehabilitation Act Amendments of 1992. The governor appoints 21 volunteer members for terms of three years to direct the not-for-profit organization objectives.
