A man out of Magoffin County has been indicted after he allegedly shot another man in the face.

41-year-old Michael Paul Perkins has been accused of getting into an argument with another man on July 11th of this year. That fight is said to have escalated to the point that Perkins allegedly shot the man.

The victim was then taken to Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center, where he was airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital for treatment.

This past Wednesday, a Magoffin County Grand Jury indicted him on a charge of first-degree assault, which carries a potential prison sentence of between 10-20 years.

Perkins is currently being held at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
