The first case of monkeypox has been confirmed in Fayette County, as of Wednesday morning.

 

Thus far, three cases have been confirmed in Jefferson County with 13 probable cases throughout other counties. The case in Lexington is only the second case to pop up in central Kentucky.

 

As of Wednesday, August 17th, the state of Kentucky has 17 total reported cases, with the CDC listing only 15.
