“King” Kelly Coleman’s 67 Year Old Record of KHSAA’s Basketball All-Time Leading Scorer Broken in Sweet-16

The 67 year old record that was set by the legendary King Kelly Coleman with the all-time KHSAA scoring record was broken Yesterday during Q95FM’s coverage of Lyon County taking on Newport in the first round of the state tournament.

Travis Perry, Junior star for Lyon County, broke King Kelly’s record of 4,337 points after scoring 23 points against Newport in the Sweet-16.

King Kelly set the record that stood for 67 years during his time playing ball for Wayland High School from 1953-56.

Perry is now the all time leading scorer in Kentucky High School Basketball with 4,340 points.
