Earl R. “Buddy” Gambill, age 82 of Paintsville, Kentucky passed away Friday, March 8, 2024 at the Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. Born December 10, 1941 in Johnson County, Kentucky to the late Lawrence Gambill and Violet Painter Gambill. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia “Cindi” Conn; one brother, Jimmy Lawrence Gambill; five sisters: Sally Gamboe, Jean Ealey, Mildred Sharpe, Frankie Skinner, and Naomi Barron; and best friend, Chris Haney.

Buddy is survived by his loving wife, Virginia “Jenny” Gambill; one son, Jimmy Gambill (Tabrina) of Jacksonville, Florida; one daughter, Lisa Mooney (fiancé, Dwayne Reed) of Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren: Megan Conn, Sean Mooney (Adelyn), Kaila Mooney, Shannon Pasowicz (Michael), Jake Gambill, Christian Bruno (Hannah); four great grandchildren: Finn, Joseph, Michael, and Hudson.

Buddy was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a retired police officer, serving his community for many years.

There will be no public visitation or funeral service at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
