MURDERER SENTENCED

judge-2

On Tuesday, Attorney General Russell Coleman and Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 21st Judicial District Ashton McKenzie announced a man was sentenced following a 2014 murder in Rowan County. On June 22, 2014, Anthony T. Paysen, 29, and four other men were involved in a break-in that resulted in the murder of Bo Otis in his Rowan County home. Kentucky State Police identified Paysen as the man who fired the deadly shot, and all of the other co-defendants were previously sentenced for their crimes. Paysen pleaded guilty on February 23, 2024, to one count of murder, one count of robbery and one count of burglary. As part of the plea agreement, the Commonwealth recommended Paysen serve 43 years in prison. Sentencing was Wednesday, and the Rowan Circuit Court imposed the recommended sentencing.
