Former Senator Bunning Suffers Stroke

On October 18, 2016, former U.S. Senator from Kentucky and National Baseball Hall of Famer Jim Bunning suffered a stroke at his home in Southgate, Kentucky. His family released a statement saying he was taken to St. Elizabeth’s hospital for treatment and was recovering. Bunning was transferred from the Intensive Care Unit to a transitional care unit Thursday evening. The Bunning Family thanked first responders and medical personnel and asked the press to respect their privacy as they focus on his recovery.
