On October 28, 2016 at approximately 4:15am, Knox County Deputies Mikey Ashurst and Sidney Wagner received a call from Knox County 911 Dispatch Center stating that they received an anonymous telephone call giving the location of Knox County Detention Center escapee John Ray Gray. The caller advised the escapee was at a residence on Capewood Drive in Gray. Deputies Ashurst and Wagner went to the location and apprehended him. John R. Gray, 29 of Cannon, KY, was charged with Escape 2^nd Degree and returned to the Knox County Detention Center.
