East Kentucky Science Center to Host Robotics Workshop on December 10

Big Sandy Community and Technical College’s East Kentucky Science Center and Planetarium, in conjunction with The Rad Lab, and the Mechanical Science and Engineering program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will host a Robotics Workshop from 8am to noon, Saturday, December 10 at the EKSC. The Camp will be led by Professor Amy Laviers, of the Robotics, Automation, and Dance lab and Mechanical science and engineering program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her research focuses on the transition of robots into more human applications. Those who attend will learn how students research robots by using dance and engineering to articulate human movement in robots. Attendees will also articulate their own dance movements in a robot. The camp is limited to the first 30 participants and open to children in third through seventh grades. Registration is $5.
