Officer-Involved Shooting Leaves One Man Dead Following Chase With Police

Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding an officer-involved shooting that took place in Northern Knox County, Thursday night. A man is said to have been shot following a chase with police that spanned several counties across Kentucky and Tennessee.

 

Officials with the Kentucky State Police were pursuing the suspect alongside Williamsburg police in Whitley County. The chase crossed into Tennessee, continuing with authorities from Anderson and Campbell County. The driver is said to have lost control, crashing just past the Raccoon Valley Road entrance ramp on I-75 in Knox County, Tennessee.

 

As officers approached the vehicle, they fired shots at the suspect for reasons that are still under investigation. The driver was struck by the gunfire and was transported to the hospital, where he died. No officers are said to have been injured during this altercation.

 

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is still investigating this case.
