A Letcher County man is now in jail on sex abuse and other charges following an incident last week at a restaurant.

Officers were called to the business over reports of a man harassing an employee. Upon their arrival, they spotted 21-year-old Jose Contreras. He attempted to run when police approached him, but was stopped with a taser.

The employee who was assaulted told officers that Contreras had exposed himself to her, then tried to grab her to push her into the kitchen. She told police she used the kitchen door to barricade the man from entering, then locked him outside.

Contreras is now charged with sex abuse, indecent exposure, fleeing police, and other charges.
