The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of a phone scam involving Amazon.

Officials with the sheriff’s office said the scam call will claim that your account is locked due to fraudulent charges or a lost package. A lot of times the phone number will appear as a local number.

If you receive a call of this nature, hang up. No matter what the scammers tell you, all they want is your personal and financial information.

Anyone who has received this call is asked to report the scam to Amazon.
